Custom banners may be more important for car washes than most realize. No, we are not talking about legitimate car washing drive-thur’s, but car washes along the side of the road often run by charity groups looking to raise money. During the summer time, car washes are especially popular. It seems like every other block there is another group trying to get people to drive into their parking lot and donate a couple of bucks to get their car cleaned.
Imagine how this whole cycle would be different if some of those kids holding signs along the side of the road were actually holding custom banners. On the custom banners would be the name of the group and their purpose. There can be a custom banner for the actual car wash too, but since the point is to raise money it is essential to show potential customers what cause they would be donating to.
Ideas for Custom Banners
The banner need not be complex. In fact, since cars will be whizzing by, it needs to be something big and easy to read. Something simple like "Boy Scouts raising money for ___" would work well enough. Drivers just need to know the gist and then they can decide whether to stop. These charities and fundraisers need not worry about drivers refusing to stop because they disagree with the cause. That is very unlikely. It is just polite to demonstrate to drivers that there is a legitimate point behind the car wash. It is not a scheme for a bunch of kids to make a few summer bucks, but a good cause that drivers are supporting.
Aside from being big and clear, the custom banners need to be at the right angle to be visible to drivers coming from both directions. If necessary, multiple banners may be made or purchased. Part of the investment depends, of course, on how frequently the car washing will take place. To buy a nice custom banner for a one time car wash seems like a pretty silly thing to do. Maybe you can use the opportunity to start having more car washes, getting more kids involved, raising more money and using it for some pretty good things.
